Not only are you guys hugely creative, but you understand the meaning of client service. Nothing is too much trouble and while you are flexible in your approach, the integrity of the creative is retained. I am just so glad we stumbled across your website!

The Relationship Between Infographics and Whiteboard Video Scribing

Infographics have become wildly popular in the past couple of years, thanks in large part to the rise of picture sharing sites such as Pinterest, Tumblr and, of course, Facebook. Infographics work so well because they tell a story or explain an otherwise complex subject with a few simple graphics tied together with a theme or timeline. At a glance you can understand the basics of social media marketing or learn about the history of U. S. Presidents. This kind of visual storytelling has been shown to be more effective than text or text-based slideshows because they make an emotional connection with our brains, not unlike the drawings made in caves by our ancestors. Whiteboard video scribing takes this analogy to the next level.

How Do Infographics Work?

Infographics are arranged vertically on a long, narrow graphic. Each "scene", starting at the top and progressing downward, conveys the next logical step in the "story", for example major milestones in the history of a company or technology. The only problem with this approach is that the connection between scenes is often difficult to depict in a meaningful way. You have to scroll down from scene to scene and view each portion carefully to extract relationships and meaning. There is no simple way to connect audio with an infographic that might be helpful in explaining or narrating its story.

The Power of Whiteboard Video Scribing

Whiteboard Video Scribing takes the benefits of visual storytelling to another level by taking the viewer on a journey. Imagine the points made by your favorite infographic. Now break the infographic up into "chunks" and watch a storyteller draw them and explain them along the way. It's as if you are there with the presenter, which establishes a closer connection. Now you consume the content one step at a time, and each step is explained in a logical sequence that makes it easier to understand. By connecting the images with the story and the voice of the storyteller, you are better able to visualize and remember it for future reference. The art of video scribing is developing the visual and audio story in such a way as to make it as memorable and as clear as possible for the viewer. Much like creating an infographic, whiteboard video scribing builds on visual storytelling using a dynamic approach and more of the senses. You could say they are Info-MOTION-graphics

Will Whiteboard Video Scribing Be the Next "It" Way to Tell Stories?

Only time will tell, but as the Internet continues to dominate modes of communication, it seems likely that people will naturally move towards easier, more compelling ways to consume and understand information. As they do, they will seek more powerful means of visual storytelling, and video scribing is a great new alternative to infographics and traditional presentations.

Is your story waiting for a new way to be told?
